Hear from some of our current volunteers!
“I have been a volunteer since the opening of the arts center. I have enjoyed volunteering and meeting other volunteers and especially our artist members. I get so many compliments from our visitors on what a beautiful venue we have in Vernon, how lucky we are, and what beautiful art shows are available. Our visitors are made aware of our website for shows, information on memberships, and classes if they are not already aware.” – Donna Barnas
“Volunteering at Arts Center East has always been a positive experience that includes meeting creative and interesting people and sharing common interests. When I gallery sit I can expect to converse with visitors, work on an art project and share ideas.”- Scott Rhoades
“My experience has been great. Volunteering here has helped me get back into a professional mindset.” -Melissa Rodgers
“One thing that volunteering makes me do is make time to visit the gallery at Arts Center East. Life runs so fast, between work assignments, keeping our yard, church and other living activities, volunteering makes me make time to go and visit Arts Center East. Taking time in sitting in the gallery give me several different emotional and body lifts. First, I see and interact with people that I do not usually see during my every day life. Second, I always seem to learn something with the interact action with people. Third, this is a time to really relax with no telephone/cellphone or life interruptions. Fourth, really take time to see what others are doing in their media.
Thank you for allowing me to volunteer at Arts Center East.” – Fred Bird
“While volunteering at Ace, I not only enjoy the current exhibits, but usually have interesting moments with other like-minded people who visit the gallery. Some are artists, like myself; all are so ready to wallow conversationally in the arts.” – Jan Geoghegan
