VIRTUAL CLASS
Learn to create beautiful paintings using your own reference photos! Professional artist Linda DeStefanis offers individual instruction for all levels in an accessible online class. You begin by selecting a reference photo (or two) you would like to work from, then learn how to:
- Create successful compositions from photos, what to crop out, what to add or change
- Begin your painting by sketching then blocking in shapes for an underpainting
- Practice and try creating different effects by using different brushes
- Create dynamic paintings with the help of color
- Why you don’t need black paint
A materials and supplies list will be given before the first class begins. With individual instruction, you will learn how to use your own reference photos to create successful, beautiful paintings. This class also works for acrylic artists. All levels welcome!
Special Notes
Class Q&A Zoom Meeting (optional) will be held Wednesdays at 10:00am. You will need a computer or an ipad or iphone with a microphone and camera to participate.
The First class will take place on Zoom, Wednesday, February 10 at 10:00am for an introductory conversation between the students and detailed explanation of the course. Weekly lessons will be emailed with an (optional) Class Q&A Zoom Meeting taking place on Wednesdays at 10:00am. *Meetings will be recorded and sent to those who were unable to attend.
A professional painter, graphic artist, and photographer, Linda Boisvert DeStefanis considers herself a contemporary realist painter. She focuses on the beauty of nature in her work, particularly landscapes and waterscapes. She has been President of the CT Women Artists organization for the past 3 years and has won numerous awards for painting over the past 40 years. She looks forward to sharing her experience and love of painting with you!
