Description
Children love to draw and it’s an important skill that can be taught and learned in a step by step process. This class will expose children to a variety of types of drawing from expressive, and realistic to cartoons, still life, animals and portraits in a safe and accepting environment. I use Mona Brooke’s book Drawing with Children to provide leassons that are easy to follow and simple to teach children how to perceive their environments in terms of the five elements of shape. I also Mark Kistler’s Draw Squad method for a positive, and creative experience in developing creative thinking. Knowing how to Draw is a life long skill that opens the door to all of the Visual Arts. If your child loves to draw, this is the class for them!
Rebecca Moran, MFA in Visual Art teaches drawing, painting at Eastern Connecticut State University.
