This is a fun and interesting class focused on creating papers to cover a journal.

Paste papers are one of the earliest methods used to decorate paper. The first class is focused on making the papers and the second class will be used for covering a journal, binding and embellishing the book.

Day 1 – Create beautiful, hand-made paste papers approximately 22×30”. Using the instructor’s home-made paste, students will choose from several colors or mix their own color with high quality GOLDEN acrylic paints. Various tools are provided to make marks and patterns in the special paste paint that result in beautiful design. Each student will make 3 papers.

Day 2 – From the papers you made day one, we will cover the front and back of your instructor provided journal. We will then bind and embellish the book with threads, ribbon, buttons and other found objects. If time allows, there will be an option to create pockets inside the journal with some of the excess paper.

You will leave with a personal and unique art journal ready for your entries. Or, give it as a gift to a loved one.
