Dates: Mondays, July 8–July 29
Time: 1:00–3:00 pm
Let’s take the mystery out of watercolor, the most naturally expressive of all mediums. First we will discuss the papers, paints and brushes recommended for best results. You will then be treated to a demonstration, illustrating how to plan your layout and execute a successful painting, start to finish. You will learn how to load your brush so you can “float” your color for the most saturated, fresh and vibrant painting. With individual instruction Shauna excels in showing her students how to transform their own ability to see in a way that makes the complicated seem simple. With a minimum of stress we will discover how to control this magical medium.
Some drawing experience is recommended.
Beginning with an informative demonstration, Shauna will show you how to see the world in terms of shadow and light, simplifying the landscape to the most basic masses and values. With specific, individual instruction you will learn the “what, why, and how” of a successful painting. We will learn the steps necessary to be able to express ourselves artistically, how to see the world in a new way, and even more, how to give yourself the gift of confidence. All levels.
Materials NOT included. A materials list will be provided by the instructor on the first day of class.
