In the beginning (1991) photography to me was just another way of telling stories, but as time went on it turned into much more. Photography was an avenue for me to be creative, which then helped me overcome my insecurities and build my confidence. What I realized about photography, was that I was capable of doing more, even things that I never thought possible. For example, in 1998 while attending Adirondack Community College I made the Dean’s List, and in 2000 I became a photographer in the Navy, then in 2017 I graduated College with a double major.
Being a half a century old, you can imagine the stories that I have to tell. In my Art show, 30 Years in the Making, I will share some of the art I did during the darkest time in my life. This process for me has been very therapeutic, and I am sure that there’s a lot of people who can relate to the art, poetry, stories, and photography that has evolved over the past 30 years.
